Ladyfest Leeds

23 Jan

Ladyfest Leeds is going to be shaking up West Yorkshire between Tuesday 10th and Sunday 15th April this 2007, ‘celebrating creativity, diversity and promoting gender equality’ (www.ladyfestleeds.co.uk). The festival celebrates the talents of all women and provides a platform to showcase the talents of female artists and performers. This means that during the festival there will be a host of live music, workshops, and fun for everyone to get involved in. Ladyfest festivals have taken place all over the world since 2000.

I noticed that the organisers were looking for people to run workshops during the event and thought we could bring some ‘Re-Toyed Trash’ workshops to new audiences at the festival. I have submitted a workshop application form, so keep your fingers crossed for us to get a slot. The following artists have been confirmed to want to help with the workshop and co-ordinate their own theme for the art-making: Dan Walls, Amy Warren, Lil Adams, Sarah Barrett, Zoe Sawyer and Anna Tonks (of theartmarket) .
